Wild vs. Domestic Rabbits

There are 2 distinguishing features between a domestic rabbit and a wild one:

  • Fur Color - wild rabbit coats are colors that will help them camouflage in nature, such as brown or black. Rabbits that are black or white are always domestic.

  • Size - a domestic rabbit is typically bigger, and can weigh 8 or 9 pounds.
